Our collection is built on natural, ethically sourced gemstones and sustainable lab-grown diamonds, with every piece designed to feel personal — timeless, but unmistakably yours.

Our Story

Nangi was founded in Norway in 2017 by husband and wife Jenny Gørvell-Dahll and Danuka Hewage. We are proud to be one of Europe's first fine jewelry brands to work exclusively with lab grown diamonds and rare colored gemstones sourced directly from Sri Lanka.

Jenny's passion for jewelry began in Bergen, Norway, inspired by her mother's love of designing pearl jewelry. It was during her many trips to Sri Lanka — where Danuka's roots lie — that she discovered the island's extraordinary wealth of gemstones. Known as "the Island of Jewels," Sri Lanka's colorful stones sparked the idea of pairing them with the clean, minimalist lines of Nordic design. And so, Nangi was born: a brand that carries both worlds in every piece it makes.

The name "Nangi" means "little sister" in Sinhala. It's a tribute to the young girls we support through our long-standing partnership with a children's home in Sri Lanka, where Danuka's grandmother has volunteered for many years — and it's grown into a natural focus for our work beyond jewelry.

Our Philosophy

Sustainability and timelessness sit at the heart of what we do. Fine jewelry should be beautiful, but it should also last. Our pieces are made from solid, durable gold that won't tarnish, set with natural gemstones that took billions of years to form — jewelry made to be worn daily, and to become an heirloom in time.

In 2019, Nangi became the first jeweler in Norway to offer sustainable lab grown diamonds — a choice we made so our customers could have both beauty and a clear conscience.

Our goal has always been to challenge the norms of the jewelry industry by offering ethical alternatives without compromising on quality or design. Nangi is built on the principles of transparency, quality and sustainability — we want to be part of a new generation of jewelry brands that puts people and the planet first.
